What I learned in church today: made it to CA on time today. whoohooo! today’s message was about Procrastination. and oh boy… God sure knows how to speak to me. as soon as i sat down and opened today’s bulletin, the first scripture that caught my eye was James 4:17 - Remember, it is sin to know what you ought to do then not do it. yikes. and then… Proverbs 12:11 - A hard worker has plenty of food, but a person who chases fantasies has no sense.
ok, so in other words… i better get this charity-based fashion show rolling… ASAP! as Pastor Mark said “motivation follows action”… i guess i’m on the right track but, i need to put in more action. that means more planning and more follow through.

What I learned in church today - i woke up late to make the usual 9am or 11am service yesterday. womp womp. i didn’t even go out saturday night. but, i did have a long day and i basically crashed at 8pm. since i didn’t make it to church, i decided to check out New Hope’s online service. nothing beats going to church and worshipping in person but being that New Hope is in Hawaii (oh btw… i’m from there hehe) and that Tommy Walker and Jewl Anguay (praise singers from the church i go to) were special guests made the whole online experience worthwhile.
today (yesterday), the message was about Struggling With Doubts. everyone has had their share of doubts. for example this blog, i’ve recently doubted the purpose of it. am i really reaching out? or is this turning to something vain that made me fell out of fashion in the first place?
the reactions i’ve received have been nothing but positive. even my loved ones keep telling me that i’m onto something and that i shouldn’t give up… i couldn’t disagree more and Pastor Aaron’s timing couldn’t have been anymore perfect.
- when face with doubt it reminds us that we have a choice

What I learned in church today - i went to Park Community Church in Chicago today (yeah i’m here in Chi-Town) and one of the scriptures that hit home was simple and sweet… Philippians 4:6-7 “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.”
since i’ve been on a roll with including worship songs in my posts, i decided to keep going with it. this week, i’ll share with you one of my MOST FAVORITE.
I grew up in Sunday school, I memorized the golden rule,
and how Jesus came to set the sinner free.
I know the story inside out, and I can tell you all about the path that led Him up to Calvary.

What I learned in church today - The Worst Things Aren’t The Last Things. it was actually more of a reminder than a lesson but, it was a good reminder indeed. marinate on it… pray about it… trust.
so we had the full church choir today and they were off the chain (i’m big on worship songs). although the choir blew me off the water, i found myself unexpectedly moved by an oldie but goodie. as i was in Goldilocks eating my Breakfast Buffet, i look up and suddenly see Gary Valenciano (if you don’t know about him, it’s google time) singing on TV. as always, i was mesmerized because i see so much of my brother in him (my brother used to idolize this guy when we were younger) that i couldn’t hear what song he was singing. then bam… i realized that the song was Take Me Out of the Dark. i frantically look up the lyrics on my phone and sure enough… *goosebumps. take a listen:

What did I learn in Church today - It’s Palm Sunday. We learned about the significance of the Three Crosses. I’ll elaborate more on this tomorrow. For now, I’ll leave you with a worship tune that we sang today. This song never fails to move me… a “Soul-gasm” as I would call it.
